Details of the disputes between Johnny Depp and his ex-wife have been passed on to the London High Court, as the actor’s libel suit against the Sun continues.
Depp, 57, told court that Amber Heard, 34, was angry when he was late for his 30th birthday in 2016.
Heard says he threw a magnum of champagne at him – which he denies.
Depp sues for defamation of an article that called him a “female drummer” – but the Sun newspaper maintains the story was accurate.
Journalist Dan Wootton’s April 2018 play was about the cast of Mr. Depp in the film franchise Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.
Counsel for Mr. Depp say the article “makes the most serious defamatory allegations”, accusing him of committing serious assault against Ms. Heard.
On the fourth day of the proceedings, the London High Court was notified of the birthday party in a place in Los Angeles in April 2016.
Depp said he was late for the event after receiving bad news about his finances and then got out of bed to read in order to “avoid confrontation with Ms. Heard” .
Sasha Wass QC, representing the publisher of Sun News News Newspapers, asked if Mr. Depp was really reading a book on his wife’s birthday when she said she was upset that he was late for her Party.
Mr. Depp replied, “I thought that his behavior regarding the subject of my delay at his birthday dinner, I thought it was too much … his anger, his rage … when I had texted Ms. Heard, saying, ‘I’m really sorry, I’m going to be late. “”
Ms. Wass then suggested that Mr. Depp had become angry after Ms. Heard raised the issue of his late arrival to the party, and he got up from the bed to chat with her, which the actor denied.
The lawyer said that Mr. Depp was “very upset by the news you had received and the last thing you wanted to say was that you were a disappointment for your wife.”
Mr. Depp replied, “I think this is the last thing a husband would want to hear. ”
Ms. Wass then accused Mr. Depp of picking up a bottle of champagne magnum and throwing it at Ms. Heard, who missed, with the broken glass, what he denied.
She also alleged that he grabbed Ms. Heard by the hair and pushed her onto the bed “adding” when she tried to leave, you blocked the bedroom door and tried to grab her hair. ”
The lawyer suggested that Mr. Depp “push her to the ground” and “bump her chest” before leaving a birthday message that contained an explicit phrase and leaving the apartment.
Ms. Wass then described the subsequent judicial events, described as “the defecation incident”.
The lawyer told Mr. Depp that “it was brought to your attention the following, on Amber’s birthday, that the cleaner had found excrement in the bed.”
She suggested that Mr. Depp was later sent photographs of the excrement, that the actor found it “hilarious” and “that there were jokes like …” Amber in the landfills “in progress.” ”
Mr. Depp replied, “It was one of the most absurd and unexpected statements I have ever seen in my life, so yes, at first I laughed because it was so strange. ”
He told the court that it was “a mystery” that defecated in the bed “and that he was not left by a three or four pound dog”, referring to the couple’s pets, whose ‘one would have’ problems with his toilet ‘. habits ”.
“I was sure it was either Ms. Heard herself or one of her cohorts involved in leaving human excrement on the bed,” added Depp.
He told the court that he thought the incident was “the appropriate end to the relationship.”
Details of Ms. Heard’s allegations of sexual violence against the Pirates of the Caribbean star were heard in private on Friday and were not released to the press or the public.
The case arose out of an article on the Sun’s website titled “Gone with the Pot: How JK Rowling Can Be” Really Happy “by Beating Wife Johnny Depp in New Fantastic Beasts ? ”
The Sun’s original article was about the allegations of the actress, who was married to the movie star from 2015 to 2017.
Witnesses, including Mr. Depp’s former partners, Vanessa Paradis and Winona Ryder, are expected to testify by video link and the hearing is expected to last three weeks.
Mr. Depp, was nominated for an Oscar and Bafta and won a Golden Globe in 2008 for Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street.
The case continues.
