Yes, it looks like this version is suffering from another battery drain issue.
iOS 13.5.1 was released on June 1 and seems to contain a little more than a fix for the Unc0ver jailbreak. It seemed strange because there was a lot of negative chatter from iOS 13.5 users over a bunch of bugs, ranging from an irritating battery drain bug, MP4 playback being broken, and some people’s devices. are stuck in endless restart loops.
After working with a number of Hardware 2.0 drives, the problem seems to come down to applications running in the background.
Must read: I wish I had found this iPhone accessory years ago
Are you affected by this problem? To check, go to Settings > Drums then watch the Screen Off activity. If it lasts more than an hour, it will likely be a problem. Almost an hour and this can have a pretty negative effect on the battery life.
You can also press View activity beside Activity by application. This will show you if apps are running on battery power in the background. A small amount of activity is normal, but several tens of minutes or hours are not good.
Another symptom of the problem is that your iPhone will feel hot, even hot, when it doesn’t seem to be doing anything.
Is there anything you can do about it?
Unless you throw away your iPhone and switch to Android, delete the apps in question, or turn off background apps refresh (Settings > General > Refresh the App in the background and either by disabling the functionality for certain apps, or by disabling it globally), it doesn’t seem like the end user can do anything.
The good news is that Apple is working on iOS 13.6, which is currently in beta (beta 3 was released the other day). I have spoken to several people running this beta on a range of devices and the comments I get are that it is an overall improvement over the current version.
We can only hope.
