Boris Johnson continues his renewed efforts to engage with the country as a whole today, with a trip to Yorkshire on the agenda today.Last week, the Prime Minister visited the Midlands where he promised “jobs, jobs, jobs”, urging the country to “build, build, build”. But Dudley’s speech was somewhat overshadowed by the fact that, 50 miles down the road, Leicester was again forced to close shops and schools as part of measures to contain an epidemic.

And at some point after 3:30 p.m .: Dominic Raab, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, is expected to make a statement to MPs on the government’s new sanctions policy. Individuals from Russia, Saudi Arabia and North Korea are likely to be targeted by the British version of the Magnitsky law, which is a key step in the EU sanctions regime.
