Holly Willoughby sadly thanks Phil Schofield for their departure this morning

Holly Willoughby this morning wrote a moving tribute to co-host Phillip Schofield during “Strange Times”.The presentation duo withdrew from ITV for their summer vacation, with Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes replacing them.

Holly and Phil hosted their last show on Friday in their first real break since they stayed on our screens throughout the pandemic, socially distanced in the studio.

They arrived at the studio in an ice cream van and drank wine in their last show until September.

Holly thanked Phillip for supporting her during these “strange times”

Posing a sincere Instagram message next to a photo of neon lights saying “Thank you,” Holly wrote, “Thank you… thank you for staying with us for the past 109 days…

“When we started this new way of broadcasting, we didn’t know how long we could enter, or whether it would be our last broadcast from the studio during the lockout.

“The team adapted and implemented plans a, b, c and d just in case … Some days, we didn’t know if we had the content to complete the show, but in a way or on the other, we have always managed it and even had a few laughs along the way.

“You see us, but we feel that you are there with us, on each show … @thismorning holds a mirror to life and reflects the mood of what we all feel.

Phil and Holly take a break until September

She continued, “I can’t thank our team enough! @ Martinfrizell1, Emma, all the production that came in.

The production team that worked from the house, the team, the TM family and other presenters who are always brilliant, but especially at @schofe to metaphorically hold my hand and be reliable and socially distant, shoulder against shoulder…

“What a strange moment … I feel incredibly grateful … A huge love, thank you again … See you in September,” she concluded.

She was spotted after the show loading her cart into the supermarket, buying goodies at The Hummingbird Bakery for a celebration.
