The lease is for a maximum of 15 years and includes the supply of hockey, concessions and entertainment. MacDonald says it’s the deal they originally hoped for with the capital. They are now working with ECHL for a franchise and hope to have a team on the ice for the 2021-2022 season.
MacDonald says this is good news for the Growlers and should help pay for travel expenses. They have subsidized teams that go from Brampton to St. John’s, and now with Quebec, this subsidy should be reduced.
