Grant Imahara, host of Discovery Channel “MythBusters” and Netflix “White Rabbit Project”, has died, according to a Discovery Channel statement. He was 49 years old.

The host was known in Hollywood for his work in electronics and animatronics.

“We are heartbroken to hear this sad news about Grant. He was an important member of our Discovery family and a truly wonderful man. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, “said a Discovery statement sent to CNN.

No cause of death was available.

Former MythBusters co-host Adam Savage said on Twitter, “I’m lost. No words. I have been in two large families with Grant Imahara for the past 22 years. Grant was an engineer, a really brilliant artist and performer, but also such a generous, easy-going and gentle PERSON. Working with Grant was so much fun. I will miss my friend. “

CNN contacted the Imahara agent for comments.
