Gordon, who owns a number of houses in the South-West, is keen to expand his restaurant empire.

A source said: “Gordon is very interested in the support, as he feels he has a lot of potential.

“It already has a certain legitimacy because of Rick association, but Gordon believes that he can take it up a notch.

“This is not a done deal, but there’s a good chance that it will seal the agreement.”

Gordon, who The Sun revealed last month was to return to ITV for a new series of Hell’s Kitchen, annoyed the residents of Cornwall with his presence at lockdown.

The inhabitants, there has been a problem with the Michelin-starred chef, after he moved his family from London, with residents fearing the visitors might be carriers of coronavirus.

But that has not put in wanting to add the Cornwall restaurant to its empire in the world, with points of sale in London, Las Vegas and Dubai.

Rick announced the closure of its Porthleven restaurant this month, saying: “We would like to thank all our customers who have supported us over the last few years.

They might not need to if Gordon takes over.

Matt is full of hope

MATT Goss could have a famous pop voice, but he has a vivid imagination too.

The former Bros singer, who spent the lockout in Las Vegas after moving there to sing 11 years ago, wants to return to the UK next year for grilling politicians on his own current affairs show.

Matt said: “I want to have a TV show where I can have conversations with policy-makers and pre-select 100 people and has surprised more than one of them.

“I’m not afraid of any topic and I have a ability to make people comfortable.

“It is good to have this level of interest.”

I’m not sure that it is good to be illusions, though.
