Former ‘Glee’ star Naya Rivera missing in southern Lake California

LOS ANGELES – Authorities say ex-Glee star Naya Rivera is missing and wanted in a lake in southern California.

Last Wednesday, the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department confirmed that Rivera, 33, was the wanted person in the waters of Lake Piru, about 90 kilometers northwest of downtown Los Angeles.

KNBC reported on Wednesday evening that Rivera hired a pontoon boat at the Piru Lake reservoir on Wednesday and that her young son was found on the boat wearing a life jacket. Rivera’s identification was found on the boat. Sheriff officials launched a search for boats and helicopters on Wednesday afternoon, but it was suspended overnight. Research will continue early Thursday.

“We believe it went into the water and we couldn’t find it. So it could be drowning, “said Captain Eric Buschow at a press conference.

Rivera’s son, 4, came from a marriage to actor Ryan Dorsey. The couple finalized their divorce in June 2018 after nearly four years of marriage.

She called her young son “my greatest success, and I will never do better than him” in his 2016 memoirs “Sorry not sorry”.

The actress was engaged to rapper Big Sean in 2013, but their relationship ended a year later. The couple met on Twitter and collaborated musically, the rapper appearing on Rivera’s first single “Sorry”.

Rivera played Santana, a cheerleader in the musical “Glee” which aired on Fox from 2009 to 2015. She appeared in 113 episodes of the series and went out with co-star Mark Salling, who s committed suicide in 2018 after pleading guilty to child pornography.
