First breakfast and pints are served in Liverpool as bars and restaurants reopen


The first breakfasts and pints after the lockout were served in Liverpool this morning.Restaurants, cafes, bars and pubs are reopening today after months of closure due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Prime Minister Boris Johnson gave places the green light to reopen starting today, July 4, in an announcement last month, with a day that should be huge for the hospitality industry.

In Liverpool, hair salons have already seen a rush of customers this morning, though many have also quickly gotten their hands on their first breakfast or pint after the lockout.

At the Allerton Manor Golf Club, photographers managed to capture some of the first items served, including a good old-fashioned pint.

The club’s new mobile catering van at The Old Stables also served food this morning.

In addition to bars and restaurants, a range of other venues are opening up today, including cinemas, bingo halls and theme parks.

Other companies, including nail salons, nightclubs and spas, are still waiting for news from the government.
