Fashion giant faces investigation into slavery | News

Leicester workers who make clothing for fashion giant Boohoo are paid only £ 3.50 an hour, a secret Sunday Times investigation found.

The factory, which sported the Jaswal Fashions brand, also operated last week during the localized shutdown of the coronavirus without additional hygiene or social distancing measures in place. The undercover journalist spent two days working in the factory where he was told to expect £ 3.50 an hour, despite the minimum wage in Britain for people 25 and over 8 £ 72.

He obtained secret video sequences from himself packaging clothes made in the factory under the label of Nasty Gal, which belongs to the fast fashion brand Boohoo whose boss, Mahmud Kamani, should get a bonus of 50 million pound sterling.
