Passengers on the plane cried out in terror when their plane was hit by heavy turbulence this weekend.
Heartbreaking images show seats shaking violently on the IndiGo flight from Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, to Kashmir, India, on Saturday.
Panic took hold of those on board as the plane began to shake about ten minutes before landing, Mirror Online reported.
Passengers can be heard screaming as the plane suddenly falters.
One person on board said, “On a few occasions, she trembled dangerously, which panicked the passengers – especially the elderly who lost their balance despite wearing seat belts.”
They said how the fear spread in the cabin as the crew desperately tried to keep people calm.
The shaking would have continued for two full minutes with more than one dramatic swerve.
The passenger added: “(Those on board) were seen praying aloud and among them women cried when the plane trembled strongly.
“Many recited verses from the Holy Quran. ”
When the flight finally landed safely at Srinagar Sheikh-ul-Alam airport, some of the passengers on board shed tears of relief, we learned.
An airline spokesperson told Sun Online: “An IndiGo 6E 9822 flight was turbulent while flying from Riyadh to Srinagar shortly before landing.
“The cockpit crew followed standard operating procedures established to ensure the safety of all passengers on board.
“No injuries were reported and the passengers were safely landed at Srinagar. “
Turbulence is a change in the air that can shake an aircraft.
There are many types of turbulence that can occur during a flight, from “clear air” to “wake turbulence”.
Most of the time, weather conditions such as thunderstorms cause disruption during flights, but jet streams caused by large planes can also have an impact on a trip.
Aircraft jets can stretch thousands of kilometers long and a few kilometers deep.
Turbulence is relatively common and generally harmless, but it can be a frightening experience for passengers caught in it.

The main concern of the pilots will be the comfort of the passengers, so that they will often slow down or divert to escape the blowers.
However, injuries have occurred in the past on turbulent aircraft.
In June 2019, a cabin crew member was sent to crash into the ceiling of an airplane when he suddenly rocked, causing a total of ten injuries.
