Notes on the Carlo Ancelotti program
Carlo Ancelotti thinks that Everton “had no fight, spirit or aggression” in his loss to the Wolverhampton Wanderers on Sunday.
Ancelotti saw his team lose 3-0 at Molineux and is looking to get an instant reaction tonight.
“Today I want my team to play with pride and heart,” wrote the Italian in his program notes before visiting Aston Villa.
“I can accept when players make mistakes in football.
“These can be studied and corrected, you hold your hands and learn and show character to respond.
“But in our game against the Wolves, we had no fight, no spirit, no aggression.
“These qualities have nothing to do with ability. Without them, your talent doesn’t matter because you have no chance of showing it off.
“We talked right away in the locker room and I was clear that our attitude in the match was not good enough for me.
“It was not good enough for Everton.”
