Her husband woke up from a coma last week, but Kate said the father of her children still has a long way to go – and that she hasn’t seen him in person once since the start of her Calvary.
And updating fans and supporters about Derek’s status, the mother of two told Ben Shephard on Tuesday morning’s show that after work, she would rush to see her other half sick.
She shared, “Maybe I could go see Derek today!” ”
Kate also added how the nurses caring for Derek go the extra mile to aid in his recovery, when she added, “In fact, the nurses are going to put GMB for him – they have a TV – and they go for put it on this morning.
“They forgot I was yesterday – they will see if he can hear anything. ”
Ben added, “See if there is stimulation. ”
Kate added, “Try everything we can do. “
Kate posted a positive update on her husband Derek yesterday after her first day back on Good Morning Britain.
She thanked her “patient” co-stars after returning to work for the first time since Derek’s hospitalization.
Speaking to Instagram after her first day back at work alongside co-host Ben, Kate had a few positive words about Derek’s “stable” condition.

She wrote: “Well, I survived my first day without planting the show thanks to the brilliant @benshephardofficial, all the wonderful team @gmb and all your patience !!
“Thank you very much for your incredibly nice messages. It means a lot. Derek also had a stable day. See you at 6 am tomorrow xxx. ”
