Villanelle eats a lot on screen, fixing a “bête noire” by Jodie Comer
When fans meet Villanelle, she is in a glacier. Then, from there, Villanelle is seen eating a shepherd’s pie, more ice cream, cake frosting, iced coffee and much more. Now, in season 3, it’s completely normal to see Villanelle slowing down on the screen. But Comer prefers a killing scene to a scene where she eats.
“I love to eat, don’t get me wrong … I love to eat,” said Comer Happy sad confused with Josh Horowitz in April 2019. However, when you’re filming from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m. or later, it’s not as much fun. However, Villanelle’s eating habits correct a black beast that Comer has.
“What I like too [eating] on screen, she’s my biggest beast, you know when you’re watching a show or a movie and there’s an actress hitting a pea on the plate, ”said Comer. “And then I’m so drawn to the fact that they avoid eating food that I can’t concentrate on the stage. “
It seems that Villanelle eats more than the other characters on television, but she eats normally
Comer is aware that eating Villanelle is a little noticeable for a television character.
“Food is something we enjoy in life and I think when Killing Eve came out, everyone was like, “She eats so much,” said Comer. “And it’s like, mmm, she probably eats like a normal person.” But we don’t really like it or see it in front of the camera. ”
And even if it’s more natural, it makes their shooting difficult.
“But there is also something very, a little, just natural. I mean, it’s hard. We had a scene in Series 2 with pasta, “said Comer, speaking of a particular day in season 2 that will last like the day when Comer almost died of pasta. She said it was “really, really grim” to have to eat all day. And, of course, she almost choked to death.
Comer got a call with pasta in season 2
Comer also told this story to Entertainment Weekly. And now that Season 2 has arrived, it’s easy to know which scene Comer was talking about. While Villanelle is on a mission for MI6 to get closer to Aaron Peel, she pretends to be Billie, a fallen socialite from New York. Aaron Peel takes Billie to lunch, invites him to Italy with him, then forces him to eat pasta.
Comer described Villanelle eating pasta “in a very grotesque way” because she “is trying to prove a point on something”. Typical Villanelle puts on a show like Billie and his pasta.
“She’s playing the game, being her usual childlike self, and the pasta was extremely dry. And it was extremely thick. I pushed it in, and then it just popped into my throat and then I was completely smothered, ”Comer recalls. “They must have it in front of the camera – a doctor arrived and managed to get him out, but my life has definitely passed before me…. I just remember being in front of the other actor and watching him, and he thought I was making a bizarre actor choice. So yes, these are completely ruined pasta for me. ”
Comer probably can’t look at Carbonara the same way anymore, but at least Comer’s brother kicked out of his near-tragedy.
« [H]I was like, “I love it. Of all the things that could have killed Villanelle, it was a mouthful of pasta, “said Comer. “It was my most dangerous Villanelle moment. ”
