Disney + postpones Marvel’s WandaVision series to spring 2021
Marvel Studios ‘ The falcon and the winter soldier was originally supposed to be the first of two MCU shows on Disney + this year. However, Disney + has officially deleted The falcon and the winter soldier from its August release. Now, via The Hollywood Reporter, WandaVision was also pushed back.
WandaVision will now release Disney + in spring 2021. Marvel actually had the series in that release window last summer. However, the studio eventually changed course and premiered in December. Back in March, the WandaVision the cast and crew hosted a closing night to celebrate the end of principal photography. This latest reshuffle brings WandaVision a little closer to Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, which tilts on March 25, 2022. It remains to be seen if Marvel will also delay Loki. This series, which features the return of Tom Hiddleston’s God of Mischief, is also aiming for a spring 2021 debut. In addition to the main characters of Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany, WandaVision will bring back a few other MCU favorites. This includes Darcy Lewis of Kat Dennings and Jimmy Woo of Randall Park. The show will also feature Teyonah Parris as adult Monica Rambeau. A younger version of Monica was previously played by Akira Akbar in Captain Marvel.
