Details on where and how NHL players will live in Edmonton – the Athletic


Players, coaches and staff from 11 Western Conference NHL teams will soon join their Oilers counterparts in a home away from home in Edmonton – and they will experience something different from anything they do. have never experienced before. As of Sunday, more than 600 team employees – along with dozens of other league staff and broadcasters – will enter a confined space in downtown Alberta’s capital , and they hope to stay there until October.

The transformation of the rink and a few Oilers hotels into a welcoming place for all is well underway.

“The job is around the clock,” said Tim Shipton, senior vice president of corporate communications and government relations for the Oilers. “It’s really heavy equipment.”
