Danish prince recovers from brain surgery in France – KTIV

COPENHAGEN, Denmark (AP) – Prince Joachim, the youngest son of Queen Margrethe of Denmark, who underwent emergency surgery in southern France for a blood clot in his brain, will not suffer from any long-term effect, according to the royal palace. The 51-year-old prince, on vacation in France, was admitted to Toulouse University Hospital on Friday and was immediately operated on. Palace spokeswoman Lene Balleby said he is expected to remain hospitalized for some time. Joachim is sixth to the Danish throne after his older brother, Crown Prince Frederik, and his brother’s four children.
