Fosu-Mensah’s reaction to the recall
Timothy Fosu-Mensah said his long-awaited return from Manchester United was the result of months of hard work, when he performed well in the 2-0 victory over Crystal Palace.
The 22-year-old was a surprise left-back selection by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer at Selhurst Park, but performed admirably in the absence of injured Luke Shaw and Brandon Williams.
Fosu-Mensah more than played his part in the victory, as United had three important points thanks to goals from Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial.
Here is what Fosu-Mensah later told MUTV:
“It feels good to be playing for the club again, I’m happier that we got the win today.
“Comfortable is a big word but I played it [left-back] before, “he said. “I think I came against Arsenal as a left back, I can play in a lot of different positions.
“It was hard, but that’s why you work so long, all these months for a time like this. It’s football, something like that can happen and you have to be ready, especially in a club like this. I think I was ready for this moment. “
