COVID NYC Update: “Dear New York” aims to raise funds for New Yorkers affected by COVID-19

NEW YORK CITY (WABC) – A new special package spread throughout New York City, including right here on Eyewitness News, hopes to attract attention and raise funds for New Yorkers affected by COVID-19. New York ”will tell the stories of a comedian, a chef, a musician and a Broadway artist.The special will be told by the actor, actor and stand-up singer Robert Klein.

Viewers will also be invited to donate to the John A. Reisenbach Foundation.

The funds raised will benefit organizations that help local communities.

“Many New Yorkers went from a steady job to waking up one morning and realizing that they couldn’t find a job at all,” said Naomi Ryan of the foundation. “The consequences of this are simply terrible, you could consider housing insecurity, food insecurity … which we of course do not want our neighbors to know about. ”
