No one died of New York’s coronavirus on Sunday.
“This should give us hope,” said Mayor Bill de Blasio, “but we are far from a victory lap.”
It is the first time since March that no COVID-related deaths have been reported in New York over a 24-hour period.
The mayor also said he was concerned that the number of cases would increase for people between the ages of 20 and 29. He said the city now wants anyone entering a covered area to keep their mask on, even if they are able to maintain a distance of six feet. He said that six feet may not be enough in an enclosed space.
REOPENING OF THE EMPIRE STATE BUILDING
The Empire State Building Observatory will reopen on July 20 after a $ 165 million renovation.
Officials say tours will initially be limited to New York State Phase 4 capacity guidelines and that crowds will be avoided by switching to scheduled online reservations only. The reduced capacity and the lack of out-of-town tourists will create a unique “New York for New Yorkers” experience. ”
CALIFORNIA STOPS INDOOR DINING ROOM AND BARS
The state of California is closing restaurants and bars amid a spate of coronavirus cases. Outdoor meals and take-out meals are always permitted.
All counties must also close all interior operations in cellars, tasting rooms, cinemas, family entertainment centers, zoos, museums and game rooms.
Los Angeles public school campuses will also not reopen this fall. The country’s second largest school system will continue online learning until further notice.
NEW QUARANTINE ORDER IN NY
New York has issued an emergency order to compel travelers from designated states to provide contact information when entering New York to help enforce quarantine.
REOPENING OF NYC DAYCARE CENTERS
When the daycare centers reopen, registration is a fraction of what it was in most centers.
Students and parents will be asked a series of questions – for example, is the student or family experiencing symptoms or have they traveled outside of the United States in the past two weeks?
Students will also have their temperature checked when they enter the establishment, and students over the age of 2 will be reminded to wear masks and wash their hands.
Twenty-two branches of the New York public library system will reopen with a transfer service.

NEW JERSEY TRANSIT
New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy said that increased ridership as people return to work led him to lift the capacity restriction by 50% on NJ Transit. The decree is in effect at 8 p.m. Wednesday. The masks must be worn on NJ Transit, in indoor stations and in outdoor stations where social distancing is not possible.
Governor Murphy signed another executive order suspending the requirement for municipal and county political parties to hold reorganization meetings Monday or Tuesday this week. All the next scheduled elections are postponed to the general elections of November 3.
UPTICK À WESTFIELD, NJ
The mayor of Westfield, New Jersey, said an increase in the number of cases in the community has been linked to people going to parties. Eleven cases announced on Saturday concerned the 18-25 age group.
Mayor Shelley Brindle said parents and families should reconsider organizing or attending graduation parties.
