COVID-19: Here is the trend of the five-day tests on Long Island, number of new cases in each county

Results of positive tests for the new coronavirus (COVID-19) on Long Island remain stable, according to the latest five-day test data.

Of the 62,403 tests performed in New York State on Friday, July 3, 726, or 1.16%, were positive.

On Long Island, the percentages for the last five days, starting on Saturday July 4, are as follows:

  • Monday June 29: 1.10%;
  • Tuesday June 30: 1.10%;
  • Wednesday July 1: 1.10%;
  • Thursday July 2: 0.90%;
  • Friday July 3: 1.00%

There were 41 new cases of COVID-19 reported in Nassau County (four more than a day earlier) with 47 other positive cases in Suffolk County (the same number as a day earlier).

Here are the overall state data released on Saturday:

  • Hospitalization of patients – 844 (-13)
  • Newly admitted patients – 63 (-10)
  • Hospital Counties – 29
  • ICU number – 190 (+2)
  • ICU number with intubation – 119 (-6)
  • Total releases – 70,877 (+83)
  • Death – 11
  • Total deaths – 24,896
