Coronavirus updates: 436 new cases in Utah, 7 deaths; As Congress battles, analysts warn economy needs help now


The number of COVID-19 cases in Utah increased by 436 from Sunday, with seven more deaths reported, according to the Utah Department of Health.The Department of Health now estimates there are 12,808 active cases of the disease in Utah.

The new figures indicate a 1.1% increase in positive cases since Sunday. Of the 509,858 people tested for COVID-19 in Utah so far, 7.5% have tested positive for COVID-19. The number of tests performed had increased by 4,507 on Monday, the health department reported.

The seven-day moving average number of positive cases per day is now 544, according to the health department. The positive test rate per day during this period is now 9.5%.
