The Community Shield will take place at Wembley on Saturday August 29, the FA has confirmed.

It has been reported that the game could host a small number of supporters at Wembley as part of plans for supporters to make a socially more distant return to sports venues from October 1.

The match will be immediately followed by an international break from September 2-10.

The announcement comes after the Premier League revealed last week that the 2020/21 season will start on September 12 and end on May 23, 2021.

The EFL has also confirmed that the Championship, Ligue 1 and Ligue 2 seasons will start on the same weekend, with their regular seasons ending on the weekend of May 8, 2021.
