Cody reacts to WWE – Situation of the “Cody Rhodes” brand

In an update earlier this week, the attempt by AEW executive vice president Cody Rhodes to make a mark on the name “Cody Rhodes” was initially denied by the United States Patent & Trademark Office due to the WWE filing of the same brand being similar. The original WWE recording was due to expire on April 13, then was renewed on May 15 – citing COVID-19 as the reason for the delay. Cody filed the trademark on the day of its expiration.

Earlier in the day, Cody commented on the name trademark, noting that it was just business and that there was no hard feelings.

“It is not as stuffy / scandalous as what has been reported,” wrote Rhodes. “It’s just business. They saw the same data as us, and they know that they can make a lot of money with the brand (even if it is not at home). Trying to license me is flattering, but that doesn’t stop it from moving. No hard feelings. ”

Last Wednesday, Cody kept his AEW TNT Championship against Jake Hager Dynamite: Fyter Fest.
