In the few games completed since the Premier League restart, Christian Pulisic has been Chelsea’s most fit player. He started the Project Restart campaign with two goals in two games. He has now won two penalties in two consecutive games.
The confidence that Pulisic is playing with right now is exhilarating. He also had a good form patch earlier in the season, including his perfect hat trick against Burnley, but injuries had slowed his integration with the team and disrupted his chances for consistent minutes. After suffering an adductor injury on New Years Day, Pulisic had left the team for more than six months.
Free time has seen Pulisic come back fresher than ever. Rest and recovery can do good for the body. It seems obvious that Pulisic has spent his free time preparing well for the remaining games of the season. He looks a little stronger, maybe spending time swelling up during his forties while dancing on TikTok.
Pulisic has quickly become a key player in the Chelsea attack – and hopes to secure Champions League football next season. Media and fan superlatives are more than justified for the talented 21-year-old.
Comparisons with Hazard are likely to continue to grow as Pulisic’s tenure with Chelsea continues. It may be a little unfair to Pulisic that Hazard’s shadow is looming over him, but the young American seems to have a positive and humble outlook on the former Chelsea talisman.
“Obviously, he was an incredible player for Chelsea. He is a world class player. I’m not trying to compare myself to him yet. I’m just trying to be my own player and I hope the fans love this guy. “

Pulisic has been direct and aggressive on the ball in every game, including today against Watford. His dribbling over defenders and his display of speed to cross several defenders gave Eden Hazard a strong vibration.
His ability to stop on a penny after accelerating past defenders and quickly change direction with the movement at the foot of the fleet howls like a danger. Pulisic’s ability on the ball may not be entirely at the level of danger at its best, but Pulisic has an aura around him that seems to draw defenders to him. Today’s second goal came from Pulisic’s ability to win a penalty thanks to the ill-advised challenge of a Watford defender in the box.
Pulisic not only wins penalties at an increasing rate in every game, he also takes fouls like Hazard did during his years as a Blue. Hazard had a special ability to bounce back when he was knocked down by difficult challenges. Injury has been a concern for Pulisic, particularly in Dortmund. As Pulisic becomes a growing key to the Chelsea attack, “load management” and maintaining his health will become paramount to seeing the best of him.
Pulisic director Frank Lampard continued to share his optimism for Pulisic. Pulisic will likely make Lampard very happy if he can maintain this shape consistently until the end of the season and beyond.
“He quickly got to know her today and was playing very well. He was injured in early January and had been injured until the start of the restart but now appears to be alive and hungry. The quality is there for everyone to see right now. ”
“He goes beyond the players, he evolves to the rhythm and he always works very hard for the team in every way, so I am very happy for him. I think that given his age, which could become of him, I am very very happy. We have a very good player and he can still improve. “
