Choreographer Ace Saroj Khan dies due to cardiac arrest in Mumbai


MUMBAI: Seasoned choreographer Saroj Khan, who was admitted to a Mumbai hospital on June 20 after complaining of breathing problems, died today.Saroj Khan’s final rites will take place today at Malvani in Malad, Mumbai.

She died of a cardiac arrest at the ICU of Guru Nanak Hospital where she was admitted on June 20 after complaining of respiratory problems.

In a career spanning more than four decades, Khan has been credited with choreography for over 2,000 songs.

The triple winner of the national prize had choreographed some of the most memorable pieces, including “Dola Re Dola” from “Devdas” by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, “Ek Do Teen” by Madhuri Dixit-starrer “Tezaab” and “Ye Ishq Haaye” by “Jab We Met” in 2007.

Saroj Khan became famous in the late eighties, choreographing Sridevi superhits such as “Main naagin tu sapera” (Nagina “) and” Hawaa hawaai “(” Mr. India “).

Lately, she had been selective in signing new projects. His recent work includes the choreography of Kangana Ranaut in “Manikarnika” last year and “Tanu Weds Manu Returns” in 2015. His last major mission was to lead Madhuri’s movements in last year’s release, “Kalank ”

She choreographed “Tabaah Hogaye” for the last time, with Madhuri from the production of filmmaker Karan Johar “Kalank” in 2019.
