China, France pledge to let Huawei invest in French 5G networks


China and France have pledged to allow Huawei to invest in French 5G networks.France’s finance minister confirmed the news on Tuesday, saying the Chinese tech company would not be subject to a “blanket ban.”

Bruno Le Maire said particularly sensitive sites would be protected and that French national security would not be included in the decision.

The announcement comes as the two countries conclude their seventh annual high-level economic and financial dialogue.
