Chicago Blackhawks goaltender Corey Crawford
revealed he had tested positive for coronavirus, which caused him to miss most of Return to Play training camp with his team.”I just want to start here by saying I tested positive for COVID so I have had to quarantine in my place here in Chicago for the past few weeks,” Crawford said in his availability with reporters via video conference. “I’m delighted to be back and I’ll try to get started as quickly as possible and get back to this form of play.”
Crawford said he started to experience symptoms in his early 40s. He also couldn’t push hard in the gym until he got his lungs and heart checked long after he had symptoms.
“I think we were safe enough about it that we didn’t endanger anyone else,” Crawford said.
The 35-year-old goaltender is 16-20-3 in 40 games this season with a 2.77 goals-against average and .917 save percentage.
