Buffalo Bills WR Stefon Diggs uneasy about pandemic

New Buffalo Bills wide receiver Stefon Diggs says he feels uncomfortable playing the NFL 2020 season during the current COVID-19 pandemic.Diggs shared his thoughts on football this season in a series of tweets on Tuesday evening.

Like the rest of his playmates, Diggs, who was acquired by the Bills this off season in an exchange with the Minnesota Vikings, had to do almost all of his training outside of the Bills due to the pandemic. Even this year’s NFL draft practically took place.

Diggs’ tweets also come as several US states report a high daily number of COVID-19 cases after successfully battling the virus in the past few months.

Despite his reluctance to play, Diggs said he trained hard to be ready to play, but would be embarrassed to have to play without fans.

The NFL recently decided to cut the number of potential preseason games this season from four to two, with the Players’ Association recommending that the entire preseason be eliminated. The league has reiterated throughout the pandemic that it plans to start the season on time in September.
