Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s team is fifth and two points behind Chelsea after a double from Mason Greenwood and goals from Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial and Fernandes.
While Greenwood and Martial made the headlines in Old Trafford the most, Fernandes again provided a dominant display and crowned it with a magnificent free kick.
He and Pogba stood above the free kick in the second period and the Portuguese star explained that it was the winner of the World Cup in France who had told him where to place the ball.
Fernandes posted a photo of him and Pogba standing above the ball on Instagram and explained, “When you trust @paulpogba’s advice, the result. Slide sideways. ”
United fans will love the relationship that is building between midfielders Fernandes and Pogba and hope it will be a sign of things to come.
Pogba has not realized his potential with the Reds since his return from Juventus and has been linked to a removal.
But the hope is that Fernandes will be able to make the most of Pogba to move forward.
