Boston Bruins defenseman Steven Kampfer withdrew from the NHL return to play program on Saturday.”After speaking with my wife, family and agent, I decided to retire from the return to play,” Kampfer said in a statement on his Twitter account. “It was one of the most difficult decisions I have ever had to make.
“My wife and son have a congenital heart defect which can lead to complications with Covid-19. We took this very seriously. Family will always be my priority. ”
Kampfer has two assists in 10 games with the Bruins this season.
