Firefighters put out a fire on Blackpool’s central pier after it caught fire overnight.

Ten fire trucks were jammed at the scene just after 3 a.m. Lancashire The fire and rescue service said.

The fire started halfway along the pier and involved a workshop and a ride, he added.

The historic tourist attraction is one of the three pillars Blackpool and was the second to be built in the city in 1868, after North Pier which opened in 1863. A third, South Pier, was erected in 1893.
