Leeds aims to tighten grip on top two
The finish line is in sight.
Only six games are played by the end of another memorable and action-packed championship campaign, and for Leeds the ultimate prize is at stake.
With just six games left, Leeds currently leads the Championship standings, one point ahead of West Bromwich Albion, who fought with the Whites at the top of the table throughout the season.
But after Leeds’ slide against Luton midweek, coupled with West Brom’s 3-0 victory over Sheffield on Wednesday 24 hours later, the battle continues.
Leeds know that a win over a resolute Blackburn team this afternoon would open a four-point spread over the Baggies, who do not play until 3:00 p.m. Sunday afternoon, as they host Hull City at the Hawthorns.
With the Baggies at home against a team that still flirts with relegation, Leeds must withdraw all the stops and return to victory this afternoon.
It is a huge game and one that could define the redesign of the promotion.
