The ‘Savage’ singer, 25, spoke candidly about her emotions in a tweet Friday, writing, “Black women are so unprotected and we hold so much to protect the feelings of others without considering our own. ”

“It may be funny to all of you on the Internet and just another messy topic you can talk about, but it’s my real life and I’m in real life hurt and traumatized,” she tweeted.

Megan – real name Megan Jovon Ruth Pete – on Wednesday opened up about injuries sustained in a shooting, posting a screenshot of a note that began: “The narrative that is being reported about the events of Sunday morning is inaccurate and I would like to set the record straight. ”

“On Sunday morning, I suffered gunshot wounds as a result of a crime committed against me and committed with the intent to harm myself,” she wrote. “I was never arrested, the police took me to the hospital where I underwent surgery to remove the bullets. ”

“I am incredibly grateful to be alive and able to heal completely, but it was important for me to clarify the details of this traumatic night,” she concluded. “I’m currently focused on my recovery so I can go back to my life and start making music again as soon as possible. ”

Earlier this week, TMZ reported that Megan was in the car with rapper Tory Lanez when he was arrested in Hollywood early Sunday morning on a hidden weapons charge. The outlet also reported that the star injured her foot that night and was subsequently treated in a hospital.

In the caption of her Instagram post on the incident, Megan wrote: “I have never been arrested. This whole experience has been a revelation and a blessing in disguise. I hate that it took this experience for me to learn how to protect my energy. ”

Lanez, 27, was arrested at 4:40 a.m. on Sunday, the Los Angeles Police Department said. He was charged with carrying a firearm concealed in a vehicle and incarcerated in Hollywood jail.

Prison records show that Lanez, whose real name is Daystar Peterson, posted a $ 35,000 bail and was released at 10:05 a.m. He is scheduled to appear in court on October 13.

Lanez was spotted on Megan Thee Stallion’s Instagram Live this weekend while the two musicians were hanging out with Kylie Jenner, as captured by a fan account.
