Remember when Billie Eilish swept the four major categories at the Grammys? Can you believe it happened this year? The ceremony took place almost exactly six months ago, but it feels like a different life. It’s from the past; Meanwhile, Eilish focuses on what lies ahead.The teenage alt-pop phenomenon has had a busy 2020 – perhaps not as busy as she anticipated before the pandemic ruined everything, but busy nonetheless. Since taking her tour of the arena on hiatus in March, Eilish has performed from home on a few charity TV shows, released a passionate statement in support of the Black Lives Matter movement, and started an Apple radio show with her dad. She also apparently worked on new music.
Eilish has just released her first single since the world changed. “My Future” is her second Bond-themed song of 2020 “No Time To Die”, and only her third since taking over the world last year. WHEN ARE WE ALL ASLEEP, WHERE ARE WE GOING? (Along the way there was also the top 10 hit “Anything I Wanted”). “Can’t you hear me? I’m not going home, ”she sings. “Until you understand, I changed my plans. Timely!
