Ayame Stamoul, 18, arrested in murder of man after body was found on the roof of Bronx McDonald

BRONX (WABC) – An 18-year-old woman has been arrested and charged with murder in the death of a man whose body was found on the roof of a McDonald’s in the Bronx. Ayame Stamoulis has been taken into custody Thursday evening.Police said Stamoulis, along with two other men, broke into the apartment of victim Richard Hamlet in what appeared to be a burglary. When they unexpectedly encountered Hamlet, police said three men beat him, forced him to drink caustic liquid, and strangled him.

They then wrapped his body in a plastic bag and threw it out of the building, landing on the roof of the adjacent McDonald’s.

Investigators answered a call early Wednesday and found the body partially wrapped in a plastic bag with a U-Haul blanket thrown over it.

McDonald’s has closed at East 149 St., next to Lincoln Hospital, while customers coming for a meal hear the news.

“It’s crazy,” said Ronald Simmons. “I live in the neighborhood, for that to happen!” ”

“It’s sad that this is happening, aside from all the bad things that are already happening, we should help each other and not kill each other,” Madeline Cancel said.

The crews carefully removed the remains.

Investigators could be seen with bags of evidence, placing them in the crime scene unit.

A maintenance worker apparently found the man’s body and called the police.
