Amber Heard accused of “attacking her sister” after video of bomb came out in court

Amber Heard’s sister Whitney Henriquez was accused of lying in court when she said the actress had never been violent towards her after an explosive video released today. Heard’s ex-husband Johnny Depp, 57, is suing News Group Newspapers for defamation over an article published in The Sun in 2018 that called him a “wife beater” – a claim he vigorously denies.

The actor claims Heard was violent towards him during the marriage, while the Aquaman star claims that she only attacked herself in self-defense.

Heard’s sister, Henriquez, was asked yesterday if her brother had ever been violent towards her or had shown a tendency towards violence and she said no.

Today, Depp’s lawyer David Sherborne presented a video, which was shown in court, which showed a group of women chatting by a swimming pool.

The court heard that the images had been provided last night by a person who remained anonymous.

In the video, reportedly shot in 2006 or 2007 as part of a reality TV project, the women examine what appear to be marks on Henriquez’s face and body and sympathize with her.

One of the women questions Henriquez about Heard “having beaten her”.

The woman said, “I can’t believe Amber beat your ass. I know you could beat her ass “and Henriquez said repeatedly:” I am not talking about it. ”

The woman goes on to say, “She really whipped your butt. ”

A woman asks Henriquez if she had an “altercation” with her sister and Henriquez replies, “got into an altercation”.

Mr Sherborne then told the court: ‘Not only did Amber Heard physically assault her sister, but Whitney’s injuries are being examined by the women in the video. It is undeniable that Mrs. Amber Heard beat her sister Whitney. .

“At one point, she visibly shows her arm and elbow to the woman asking the questions.

“The party’s business will be that Miss Amber Heard has never been violent towards Mr. Depp. The only time she hit him was in self-defense. ”

He said Henriquez lied to support his sister.

Sasha Wass QC, for NGN, told the court the video was part of a reality TV project and was “light and flippant”.

Henriquez returned to the witness box to be questioned about the video and denied that there was a “physical fight” between the sisters.

She told the court: “They were trying to tell a story that wasn’t there. Trying to make a really, really boring conversation more interesting …

“It was a really bad reality show. We were referring to a verbal argument my sister and I had the night before.

“It was nothing more than a verbal argument. ”

Henriquez said she did not see any injuries in the footage.

During yesterday’s interrogation, Ms. Laws asked Henriquez, “Have you seen your sister be violent towards others? ”

Henriquez replied, “We fought like children,” and Laws asked: Didn’t she hit you? ”

The witness said, “No,” as Laws continued to say, “Are you sure?” And she says yes.

When asked: “Are you afraid of your sister? Henriquez replied: “I am not afraid of my sister. ”

Johnny Depp’s latest libel lawsuit

Depp has denied ever being violent towards his ex-wife and accused her of abusing him during their marriage.

NGN’s lawyers are defending their case based on Heard’s 14 allegations of abuse, which include allegations of roundups between 2013 and 2016.

The actor argued that his ex-wife was abusive towards him during the marriage, which collapsed in 2016.

The trial is expected to end next week, although no ruling is expected immediately.
