Allgaier taken to hospital for further assessment after accident

Austin Cindric won the Xfinity race Thursday evening at Kentucky Speedway in overtime for his first victory of the season.

Cindric defeated Riley Herbst and Ross Chastain to win. Although this is his third Xfinity Series victory, it is Cindric’s first NASCAR victory on an oval track.

“I don’t care about the shape of the track, if it’s dirty, oval, I don’t care,” Cindric told FS1. “I’m just happy that this Ford Mustang Snap-On is at Victory Lane. We have come so close all year. … I am pumped. It’s awesome. I would love to be able to come back and do another performance like that tomorrow night. ”

The Team Penske driver led 41 of the 136 laps in the race.

The top five was completed by Chase Briscoe and Anthony Alfredo.

Briscoe finished second when the overtime was restarted, but relaxed when leaving turn 2, which made him back up. Cindric’s victory comes after Briscoe has won three of the last four races.

“I love this guy, but he has won enough,” joked Cindric.

The overtime finish was created by a rotation of Harrison Burton in turn 3 with four laps to go.

The race was the first of a double header for Xfinity in Kentucky with the second race scheduled for 8 p.m. ET Friday evening. The top 15 finishers this evening will be reversed for tomorrow’s start eleven. Myatt Snider and Jesse Little will start first.
