Seven police officers were injured in an unauthorized music event in the British capital while trying to break up a crowd that posed a risk to public health during the coronavirus pandemic, police said on Saturday.Friday’s protesters turned violent and threw projectiles at police as they entered an apartment complex at Havelock Close in west London, police said in a statement.
“The officers encountered bricks and other missiles which were thrown at them,” said police, adding that the rally had finally been dispersed without arrest.
“We are aware of the injuries sustained by seven officers as a result of hostility. ”
These rallies were illegal and posed a risk to public health in the midst of the virus epidemic, they added.
A dispersal area has been authorized in the area, for which the police have been given powers to intercept and search.
