“Super Saturday” saw the reopening of pubs, bars and restaurants in North Lincolnshire

Pubs, bars and restaurants have started to reopen following the latest easing of coronavirus locking rules in England. And as the changes took effect on Saturday, many people across North Lincolnshire took their first opportunity to have a drink or a meal in a pub for the first time since March.

Various measures were introduced at the sites to keep everyone safe and help prevent the spread of Covid-19, but pub goers were happy to be allowed to return to their residents to enjoy a pint shot at the hand or a meal with friends or family.

The changes include improved hygiene precautions and number limits, with queues growing outside certain pubs as people waited impatiently to enter.

And the reopening of the hotel industry marks an important step towards a return to normal life, with more sites in the region expected to welcome customers again in the coming days and weeks.

Scunthorpe Live visited the Blue Bell Inn and Honest Lawyer pubs in Scunthorpe and The White Horse and Lord Nelson in Brigg to take pictures of customers and staff on the first day of reopening.
