Wolverhampton Wanderers have been linked to a shock move for Paris Saint Germain midfielder Idrissa Gueye.

Reports in France claim that Gueye is a player of interest to the Wolves, and an individual they could seek to target if they lost midfielder Ruben Neves’ maestro.

Tottenham Hotspur boss Jose Mourinho is a fan of his compatriot and is planning a transfer trip this summer to give his legacy team essential surgeries.

In the event that they move to Neves and make an offer that the wolves deem acceptable, then Le10Sport reports that the old gold is monitoring Gueye’s availability.

The Senegalese international scored once in 27 games with PSG, Ligue 1 champion in his first season in the French capital, after transferring 30 million pounds from Everton last summer.

Competition is naturally severe at PSG under Thomas Tuchel, especially in the midfield; Gueye is in competition with Ander Herrera, Julian Draxler, Leandro Paredes and Marco Verratti, so the prospect that he will be available for a move is plausible.

In addition to this, sports director Leonardo Araujor also plans to refresh this team area in the summer transfer window, at the back of PSG which is awarded the French title after it has been decided that the current campaign could not be completed on the ground due to the coronavirus.

Gueye arrived at Goodison Park in the summer of 2016 from Aston Villa via the relegation of the Premier League Lions.

A return to England and the West Midlands could be considered, especially if the Wolves are able to offer Gueye Champions League football.
