Leander Dendoncker caught the lone goal and the Wolves now have a week before Saturday’s meeting with Arsenal in Molineux.
Here are our results from the Wolves’ last win:
The Wolves had eight of 24 points against the last four in the Premier League last season. They took the 24 against the last four players this season in a remarkable turnaround.
Nuno turned the Wolves into a ruthless machine capable of winning games without going into second gear, which is exactly what has happened in their last three wins.
Wolves need six points from their six remaining games to improve their total points over last year.
A welcome boost
There was to be a worst-fearing Nuno game with Romain Saiss on nine bookings a game before the yellow card amnesty.
After all, he’s a player who couldn’t stay out of the referee’s bad books. This is the new and improved Saiss, and the fact that he has only been booked twice in his last 14 Premier League games proves this.
Saiss is now free to compete at Arsenal next weekend and unless he returns to his old ways, he is unlikely to face another suspension this season.
In a week when football is getting back to normal, the wolf Jonny’s back wing has had three very normal performances.
It turns out that Jonny’s normal is actually very good, which may explain why he often goes unnoticed in a team of stars.
Jonny was at the heart of the action against Villa and orchestrated the movement that led to the winner of Dendoncker.
He sacked Villa’s replacement John McGinn out of touch with a ridiculous corner from Cruyff before sidelining Raul Jimenez on the left and continuing his run. Jonny was found in the middle and went up Dendoncker perfectly to seal the three points.
The Spaniard has always made the defense effortless, especially in the head-to-head situations that defenders generally fear, but he has also had a huge impact this season.

Smith Angers Wolves Fans
The Wolves Twitter accused Dean Smith of “apologizing” in his post-game interview with Sky Sports.
The owner of the Villa used to defile supporters of the Wolves and managed to do so again with the following comments.
“We were unlucky enough to lose the match,” he said. “We have probably had as many attempts as they have, we have more than matched the wolves. We are the only team to have played 4 games in 11 days, so thank you very much. ”
The only stop Rui Patricio had to make during the match was a speculative daisy cutter from Jack Grealish which he captured comfortably.
Wolves, meanwhile, had three very good chances to score, which Dendoncker took. The others saw Orjan Nyland refuse Jimenez at close range and Diogo Jota’s ball effort over the bar after the Villa goalkeeper missed a single throw.
As for Villa to play four times in 11 days … The Wolves have played 51 games this season and have not once bored their schedule.
The truth is, the Wolves have been incredibly comfortable, as they have been against West Ham and Bournemouth in their last two games.
Watch out for Leicester
Wolves knocked Manchester United down yesterday with the battle for the top four in the standings.
Chelsea are not in action in the Premier League again until Wednesday due to their FA Cup duties and the Wolves have yet to face Frank Lampard’s team on the final day.
But as the Wolves, United and Chelsea go strong, Leicester City falls like a stone.
Brendan Rodgers’ team has been in the running for the title at a stadium this season, but is now in the top four.
Wolves are only three points behind the Foxes and have a more favorable run-in. The Leicester schedule includes matches against Everton, Arsenal, Tottenham and Man United.
Wolves lead the Premier League standings, with Leicester in 12th place.
