Was Brad Pitt vying to play Thor?
In short, no. It was just a rumor from social media posts where Marvel fans wondered why Marvel hadn’t chosen Pitt as Thor because of his looks. In Troy, Pitt plays Achilles, a Greek man who had long locks of blond hair. Troy is not a film about the Vikings, but it was still a historical film, so Pitt had to wear armor and swing around swords and shields.
If Pitt had a hammer Troy, then it can be easy to see the resemblance between him and Thor. That said, casting directors aren’t the only ones who think before making their choice. On top of that, there are a lot of blonde men who could put on a wig and play Thor, but they didn’t get the part. The future of Brad Pitt in the MCU
While Marvel has always cast big names in certain roles in the MCU, very recently, Marvel began to incorporate some of the biggest Hollywood stars into the MCU. Pitt is an Oscar-winning actor, and he has shown time and time again that he is ready to play almost any role. As a result, it’s all too easy to imagine him playing a Marvel character who looks like him right now. He can really play just about anything Marvel has to offer.
That said, there are some more concrete rumors about the character that Marvel wants Pitt to play. Hyperion is a name that comes up quite often, and it’s pretty much the travesty of Marvel’s Superman. Marvel has also been said to be considering him for other roles, such as Doctor Doom and Annihilus. But of course, these are just rumors, and nothing can come of it.
