TUI cancels all Florida vacation until December

TUI has canceled all Florida holidays until December, the tour operator said.

All holidays to the destination have been canceled until November 30, following a spike in cases in Florida.

The tour operator cited the new Disney World restrictions implemented as a reason for not letting travel go ahead.

They said in a statement, “The decision was made following new health and safety measures implemented at Walt Disney World to ensure the safety of its guests.

“These changes would have a significant impact on the vacation experience for many TUI customers who plan their magical and often unique vacation in Florida. ”

They also explained that this was part of their new “vacation promise” which will only allow “quarantine” vacations.

TUI added: “As part of TUI’s new holiday promise, the UK’s largest tour operator is committed to organizing only holidays where it can guarantee a pleasant, relaxing and safe holiday without major changes at their destination. ”

TUI Florida vacation is expected to resume on December 1, while TUI Airways flights will resume on March 2021.

Anyone with a vacation booked can move it to another date until October 2021, or get a full refund.

An airlift – which would allow non-quarantine travel – between the United Kingdom and the United States is currently under discussion, although this is only planned for November or December.

Paul Charles of the Quash Quarantine lobby group, which wants the British quarantine rules to be suspended, told Sun Online Travel: “South America and Latin America will likely be exempt from the end of the year.

“There is no way the restrictions will be lifted there any time soon, as they are currently at the epicenter of the pandemic. “

“And it is unlikely that America will open before the November elections, partly because President Trump will not open it, but also because the number of cases there is very high.

“America does not meet Chris Whitty’s criteria for being a safe country, but something like three million Britons visit the United States each year and they will not. ”

Holidays in Europe have priority, with TUI resuming flights to Spain and Greece from July 11.
