Tottenham chief Daniel Levy is said to José Mourinho, he will have to whip it high stars for the funds of the was of the review that it wants.

The long president has made it clear to the Portuguese, there will be no cash for major expenses in the market, after the devastation caused by the pandemic.

A Tottenham source said Football Insider there have been discussions about the club transfer policy between the hierarchy and the focus will be on loans, free transfer, and offers to market this summer.

Mourinho is keen to overhaul the team more in his own image, and is already working on several signings.

As revealed by Football Insider last month, the Spurs are hoping to capitalise on the changed French market to attract some players at knockdown prices.

The Paris Saint-Germain right-back Thomas Meunier and Monaco, the rising star Benoit Badiashile are among their targets, while they have also been linked with Thiago Silva, after the PSG has announced that it will be released at the end of the club’s Champions League campaign in the month of August.

Mourinho has other stars on his radar, including the Premier League as soon available duo Willian and Ryan Fraser, as well as the much more expensive midfielder of Southampton, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg.

An even more significant firesale last summer, is on the cards, with Jan Vertonghen, Kyle Walker-Peters, Serge Aurier and Danny Rose likely to go and offers will be listened to, for the likes of Erik Lamela.

What is certain is there will not be a repetition of the case which was Tanguy Ndombele the club record £54million signing when he joined from Lyon last year.

It was announced earlier this month that the Spurs have borrowed £175 million from the Bank of England for help in the next year or so, as they respond to the financial destruction of the Covid-19 crisis.

In other Tottenham news, it can be REVEALED that the club has tabled a bid for young centre-forward.
