The rapper of Saint-Louis Huey killed after a double shooting in Kinloch


ST. LOUIS – A popular rapper from St. Louis and originally from Kinloch, Huey, was killed on Thursday evening, authorities said.

He was 32 years old.

The shooting took place just before 11:00 p.m. outside a house in block 8100 Martin Luther King Boulevard near Mable Avenue in Kinloch. Police say Huey, whose real name is Lawrence Lawrence, arrived at a local hospital with a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead shortly after his arrival.

After further investigation, police determined that another victim of the same shooting had arrived at the Ferguson Police Department with a gunshot wound. He was taken to a local hospital and treated for his injuries. He should survive.

Huey was originally signed for Jive Records and is best known for his 2006 first single “Pop, Lock and Drop It”.

Fans through social media posts paid tribute and expressed condolences to the family of the deceased. Huey’s Instagram profile indicates that he was looking forward to shooting a video clip on Saturday for his new single.

He leaves behind a 13 year old daughter.

The police made no arrests during the shooting. More details will be posted as this story unfolds.
