PARIS (REUTERS) – The death toll from coronaviruses in France increased by more than 100 for the first time in 13 days, Tuesday June 2, an increase that again includes nursing home data after a three-day hiatus .

The health ministry said the death toll increased by 107 or 0.4 percent to 28,940, the fifth highest in the world.

These data were communicated the day after the reopening of Parisian cafes and restaurants for the first time in 11 weeks as the country eased the foreclosure measures.

The department said the number of people hospitalized fell by more than 260, or 1.8%, to 14,028, and the number of people in intensive care decreased by 49, or 3.8%, to 1,253.

Both figures have been trending downward since mid-April.
