FAMILY and friends have paid tribute to the legend snooker’s Willie Thorne during a funeral service today.

A hundred mourners gathered to remember Willie, age 66, in Spain after his death last week of a septic shock when he was fighting against leukemia.

His twin sons, Tristan and Kieran, aged 35, and his daughter, Tahli, 32 years old, had left Britain to pay homage to them in Dehesa De Campoamor, near Torrevieja on the Costa Blanca.

“Snooker Loopy” by Chas and Dave played at the end of the sending of the ace snooker at the church Parroquia Cristo Resucitado.

A close friend, John Virgo, 74 years old, he read a eulogy at the service, which was attended also by caregivers who have cared for Willie when he fell ill before his death.

John said: “When we were doing the Pot Black, they were looking for a good player, and Willie has beaten me.

“A GREAT LOSS”

“It was Willie who was the most beautiful.

“Willie will be a great loss to those he left behind him. We will miss his jokes, and he could joke about Willie.

“When we started as a professional snooker’s, it was different from what it is now. ”

He added: “I can’t believe that I am here today at the church, in saying all of this. RIP Willie. You will never be forgotten. “

Pastor Keith Brown read a poem for the children Willie, who said: “When tomorrow comes without me.

“I know how much you love me and you know how much I love you. ”

The girlfriend of Willie, Julie O’neill, who took care of him during the last three months of this life, sang the song Dancing in the Sky.

After the funeral service, Julie said: “It was charming. All the world made him very proud. The flowers were incredible. ”

Wilie was diagnosed with leukemia in march and has been placed in a coma caused after falling ill to the hospital last week.

His son, Kieran, has revealed that the coffin would be brought back to the Uk for the funeral.

Friends of Willie, had organized a church service followed by a celebration of his life in a bar in Alicante.

He has rented an apartment until his death.

After his death, friends famous, including Gary Lineker and Piers Morgan have paid tribute to Willie, born in Leicester, became professional in 1975, and known by the name of Mr. Max.

The legend of the snooker has participated in Strictly Come Dancing in 2007.

It was paired with Erin Boag before being voted on at the beginning of the show, finishing 12th on the 14th.

Thorne was transported to the hospital by ambulance in Spain, with a blood pressure dangerously low when he was fighting against leukemia, and remained in intensive care since.

Things have gotten worse when Thorne went into a respiratory failure and was placed in a coma caused with a breakdown medical.

Thorne was diagnosed with leukemia in march and has been hospitalized since the hospital since the beginning of the treatment.

He had three blood transfusions and a treatment for a virus as well as MRI scans and controls heart after his admission to the hospital of Torrevieja on 2 may.

He was also facing the drop, which causes swelling and pain around the joints and an infection in the water once the treatment of leukemia started.
