Tesco and sainsbury’s issue urgent product recalls do NOT eat these items

Unfortunately, not all of the food that makes the supermarket shelves is safe to eat.This leads to product recalls, with dozens of alerts issued by the Food Standards Agency (FSA) each year.

This month has been no different, with supermarkets, including Tesco and sainsbury’s issue product recalls.

Some products contain undeclared allergens, while others may have a plastic inside.

These are all the product recalls issued so far in June.

Bisto Original Gravy Powder

Premier Foods is recalling Bisto Original Gravy Powder, because it contains milk which is not mentioned on the label.

This means that the product is a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy or intolerance to milk or milk constituents.

Product details:

  • Bisto the Original Gravy Powder (400g)
  • Lot number: 0092 A5 (all products with this batch number and time codes between 22:41 22:47)
  • Best before: end: March 2022
  • Allergens: Milk

This applies only to products sold in certain shops including Asda in the north of England with the lot number 0092 A5 and the time codes between 22:41 22:47.

Sainsbury’s recalls Pioneer Plants Vegan Shroomballs

Sainsbury’s took the precaution of recalling Pioneer Plants Vegan Shroomballs because some packages may contain small pieces of white plastic. The possible presence of plastic makes this product unfit for consumption.

Product details:

  • Plant Pioneers Vegan Shroomballs (240g)
  • Use: All dates between 3 and 6 June 2020

Kepak Foods is recalling a number of its hot dogs because some of the seals may be defective due to defective packing, which could make these products unfit for consumption.

Primula Cheese

Primula Ltd is recalling all Primula Cheese tubes, refrigerated, and ambient temperature), because the product may be contaminated with Clostridium botulinum due to a manufacturing defect.

They have taken the precaution of recalling all the products, because a product may contain the bacterium Clostridium botulinum.

The FSA said: “Manufacturing controls that could affect the safety of the products listed above could not be demonstrated satisfactorily by the company.

“The issue relates to controlling factors to prevent growth and toxin production of Clostridium botulinum. Botulinum toxin can cause a severe form of food poisoning called botulism and can be fatal.

“A recall from customers is being carried out as a precautionary measure. “
