The EFL’s decision to reduce and finalize Ligue 1 on points per game means that Aston Villa starlet Jacob Ramsey will see his loan period to Doncaster Rovers cut short. Ramsey is one of the few renters who will return to Bodymoor Heath – with Callum O’Hare back before his contract expires at the end of the month following the promotion of Coventry City.

As O’Hare returns to Villa with a medal – Ramsey’s barrage hopes with Doncaster have run out.

“I think a few weeks ago we were right in the mix and then we slipped in a few games,” Ramsey said at a conference at the Doncaster Free Press earlier this season – before the games were suspended.

“If we continue on this momentum, we can certainly go. ”

Unfortunately – it never happened. League One season was suspended shortly after Ramsey’s comments, and he never had a chance to continue his impressive performances for Darren Moore’s team, which finished the season in 9th place thanks to today’s decision.

This led Ramsey to say goodbye to Doncaster fans – and the club – after a spell that saw him score three times in 7 appearances for the club.

“Thank you @drfc_official. I loved every minute! “Said the man from the Villa on his Twitter thread.

However, it may not be done – totally – for this season.

Jacob’s brother Aaron is one of a group of Villa youth who have been called up to train with the first team before returning to the Premier League on June 17 against Sheffield United.

It looks like Ramsey’s older brother can now connect with the first team before coming back to action, and could be settled for a surprise appearance as Dean Smith investigates his Villa team for a crucial run-in.
